Guiding a student through high school and college can be one of the most important roles a parent, mentor or educator may assume. College is a steppingstone that can help ensure a student’s ultimate success, but the maze of applications, financial aid forms, essays and tests can seem overwhelming. The SMYSP Web site is tailored to help low-income and ethnically disadvantaged youth and families get answers to questions and guidance through the college admissions process.
On the SMYSP Web site you will find the answers to questions we’ve fielded from approximately 400 low-income and ethnically diverse students who have participated in the SMYSP Summer Program since 1988. Many of these students are the first in their families to apply to and attend college, while others overcame great personal difficulties to find success in college. What all these students have in common with the student you seek to help is that they hungered to go to college and found a way to make their dreams come true. We hope that you let the SMYSP Web site help you open the doors of higher education for the special student in your life. The links below will help you get started.
