Participants experience what life is like for Stanford undergraduates by living and eating at campus residences.
Living at Stanford
Stanford Medical Youth Science Program (SMYSP) participants live in an undergraduate residence hall on Stanford campus. A trained residential staff of Stanford undergraduates live in the residence with the participants to create a safe and welcoming community.
Rooms are assigned by gender, with male and female participants on separate floors. SMYSP is committed to providing an inclusive, supportive, and comfortable residential environment for all participants, and gender-inclusive housing assignments can be provided.
The residence has its own lounge, computer cluster, laundry facility, and common area. All rooms are equipped with an extra-long twin bed for each participant as well as window coverings, desks and chairs, bookcases, dressers, and wardrobes. In addition, students are provided with laptops for their studies for the durartion of the program.
Dining & Meals
SMYSP provides all meals for participants. All meals are prepared by an in-house chef and include vegetarian and vegan options at every meal. Students can also look forward to catered meals for special events.
